I'm getting married.
Yup. In three weeks I will be walking down an aisle and publicly declaring my love for one incredible man that has showered me with endless love and affection and handled me with infinite grace. I'm not a big fan of official ceremonies, traditions or cheesy knick knacks but I'm a fan of love and this seems like a great opportunity to express it.
So naturally, I wanted to prepare for the big day with some green juice. I don't like juice fasts or cleanses and though I've done them successfully I felt like that was too much stress on an already anxious time. Instead, I decided to start each day with 32-48 ounces of fresh green juice.
I was totally psyched about this commitment and the excuse to channel my nervous energy into something "productive". I invited my entire office to join me and you know what? They jumped on board, immediately. So I introduce to you my very first unofficial Two Week Juice Challenge. I invite you to join me!
For each juice I make I use 2 apples, 1 cucumber, 1 lemon, 1" ginger, 2 stalks celery, and 2 leaves of kale. I blend everything in a blender and then strain through a nut mylk bag. I make the process easy by washing and chopping everything the night before and then storing it in a plastic bag in the fridge until the morning. Then when I get up I blend everything with a couple cups of water and strain. That's it!
So for this two week challenge you will need the following ingredients:
Every single morning all you need is to spend 10-15 minutes on this very large juice and you're set. I sip on this giant throughout the morning and then eat a very large salad for lunch when I am finally hungry again. For just one juice you only need to follow the instructions below.
One Green Juice:
2 organic apples
1 organic cucumber
1 organic lemon (no peel)
2 stalks organic celery
2 leaves organic kale
1" organic ginger
2 cups water
- Wash everything thoroughly.
- If not organic, peel everything.
- Chop everything and place into your blender.
- Add the water.
- Blend until smooth.
- Over a very large bowl, hold your nut mylk bag with one hand and pour the blended ingredients into the bag with another.
- Using your free hand, gently squeeze the juice out until there is nothing left to squeeze.
I have had fancy juicers and I've bought the expensive juice but THIS is the easiest and most affordable way I have ever had juice.
I'm so excited for the next few weeks and I'm so hoping you'll join me!!
